Abstract
This paper will investigate the founding and development of the Russian Old Believer Community in Erie, Pennsylvania, from its genesis to 1925. The Article is divided into five sections. The first section will discuss the background of the Old Believers. In part two, the founding of the community and inner-city mobility within Erie will be explored. Sections three and four examine organizing the Church and occupations of the first generation. The concluding part explores the formation and significance of social organizations for the Community.
