Abstract
William Wyckoff s dissertation based, decade-length study of the Holland Purchase presents this western New York tract as a microcosm of the developer’s frontier. The 3.3 million acres, bought by six Dutch Bankers in the Early 1790’s, were opened for company-financed development in 1800.
