Abstract
Erie entered World War II much like all the other cities of this nation, with the declaration of war by America against Japan. President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan December 8, 1941 following the bombing of American ships anchored at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 by Japan.
