Ohio and Its People by George W. Knepper

Abstract
Good state histories arc hard to find. Few university history departments allocate the resources necessary to adequately support talented faculty in such mundane and "insignificant” research. Often it is a task given to someone whose efforts in more traditional fields have not been received with high accolades. Or else it falls to someone without scholarly credentials who writes an uncritical, laudatory piece without merit. Thus it is with pleasure that we can report that George W. Knepper, distinguished University Professor of History at the University of Akron, provides an outstanding one volume study of the Buckeye state that is well researched, well written, and analytical.
