Tecumseh A Life
Main Article Content
Abstract
Tecumseh has been the subject of many prior studies. Until Dr. John Sugden’s book, none has been very successful in dispelling the myths that have surrounded the Shawnee leader and place him in his proper context as a major figure in American history. Tecumseh is the first comprehensive biography of the great chief. Based on thirty years of research in Canada, the United States and Europe, using archival and published sources and based on the author’s extensive knowledge of Shawnee Indian history and culture, Tecumseh is the first authoritative account of the Native American leader who organized the only significant resistance to white America.
