Beth Simmons

Beth Evans Schooler grew up in Harbor Creek Township. Knowledge of local geology from her master's thesis, "Pleistocene Beach Ridges of Northwestern Pennsylvania" (Pennsylvania Geological Survey General Report #64), helped to stimulate her interest in aspects of eastern Erie County history. She has made her home in Colorado for the past few years where she raises horses, teaches and works as a ranger at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. From that base she continues to do research on Thomas Rees and other aspects of the east county.
