Abstract

Harry Kellar ran away from home sometime around 1860 when he was about eleven years old and only returned to Erie for short visits throughout the remainder of his life. As far as I can determine, his first visit back to Erie was in January 1879.

Mr. William Miesel continues his study of Harry Kellar’s life with this article focusing on Kellar's first Erie performance. Mr. Miesel has practiced magic for nearly a half century in Erie. He invents tricks, especially card tricks, has published many articles in magic magazines as well as several books on magic and magicians, and edits the card trick magazine Precursor.
