Digging Up Bones African-Americans in Erie County 1800-1830
Main Article Content
Abstract
African-Americans have been a presence in the United States since the earliest days of settlement. Their story is a long and integral part of American history. The history of African-Americans in Erie County can be studied as a unique experience, shaped by local conditions and events, but also as a microcosm of more general patterns in the northern United States. In either case, from the perspective of local history or for detailing of national trends, the facts are well worth uncovering.
