Abstract
Family histories are invaluable sources of material for the local history researcher. The contributions of the individuals who were simply living out their lives without
involvement in major political events, or what is normally recorded as "history,” are important aspects of our culture and need to be better understood. The details of going to work, school and church, and participating in civic organizations provide a picture of life in our community at an earlier time.
