Abstract

This offering to Erie County Historical Society’s Journal of Erie Studies of the life study of Colonel John Boyd is based on an effort to form or anthologize personal reflections and published articles of him by friends, colleagues and biographers. Although some submissions will appear dated, the information provided cannot be improved upon. In fact, they offer the best insight possible. The wheel will not be reinvented. A balance comes with the submission of current renderings providing a mix of past and present reflections.
