Call for Short Essays for Hyphen Issue 2 – Theme: "Emergence"

CALL FOR SHORT ESSAYS The theme for this issue is “Emergence,” and we are eager to feature the innovative ideas and research on the theme 'Emergence.' Contribution Formats We welcome a range of formats, including:

• Reflection-Based Essays: Approx. 1000 words
• Photo Essays: Visual narratives exploring the theme, 750-1000 words
• Dialogues: Write-ups structured as discussions between two or more faculty members and/or students. 1000-2500 words

Submissions may be based on your recent research, studios, or other areas of interest. This issue offers an opportunity to spark conversations and share the incredible work happening around the world.

About the Theme  Hyphen invites you to explore spatial practices, unconventional critiques, innovations in materials or techniques, or re-imaginings of overlooked elements in architecture and design. Your contribution could address questions such as:

• What are the underappreciated facets that could transform our understanding of space, design, or community?
• How might these emerging or re-emerging ideas inspire new perspectives in our discipline?
• How can tangible and intangible constructs redefine their role and significance in the built environment?
