Abstract
As the nation launches into a wide array of celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War, we are pleased to present this special issue on Pennsylvania during the Civil War. The format we have selected is a bit unusual. Our goal in preparing this volume has been to offer the reader a taste of the vast scholarship on the Keystone State during the war, while also providing some valuable tools for future scholars of all stripes.
