Lloyd Gibson's WWI Paper Trail

Abstract

Lloyd Camden Gibson was a writer of letters, a seeker of adventure, and a collector of souvenirs. By his own account, he "arrived barefoot on Will Gibson's Cherry Hill Farm" in the West Virginia panhandle on the 8th day of May 1892. He was the fifth among the six of Will and Sophie (Blayney) Gibson's children, and would later quip that he was one of his mother's "five disappointments" since she never had a daughter.
