Abstract
The founding documents of this nation did not guarantee equal rights for all. Women have battled for the rights of full citizenship—including the right to vote, own property, seek higher education, and have equal access to work and wages. As they organized and advocated for equity, they also worked to ensure the rights of other marginalized groups.
