Nowadays it is difficult to picture the modern world without modern technologies. Thanks to digital architecture, it is possible to respond better to instability with a decisive step toward more flexible and adaptive designs. Moreover, wireless technology is playing a significant part in the shift toward smarter architecture. The Internet of Things (IoT) was subsequently developed as a result. The purpose of this study is to present a thorough process for designing an innovative canopy that is inspired by nature and contributes to the use of digital technology to an industrial heritage site (Kahrizak Sugar Factory). This Heliophilia canopy moves with the sun and adapts to it, casting a shadow to give its users a comfortable area. This research has used a hybrid strategy that combines theoretical analysis, technological considerations, and practical examinations and the results highlight the significance of digital design in the adaptive reuse of a heritage site by drawing tourists to make it a touristic destination.
