Order and Civility in the Early Modern Chesapeake
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this new collection of essays edited by Debra Meyers and Melanie Perreault, the Chesapeake region receives a fresh look across a range of familiar topics. The editors promise an assemblage of cutting-edge scholarship and, for the most part, they have succeeded in precisely this aim. Even better, the volume manages to achieve something greater: these nine essays compel scholars to reconsider key areas of colonial historiography.
