Rauh Jewish History Program & Archives: The Jewish Women’s Center of Pittsburgh

Abstract

A small notice placed in the local Jewish Chronicle in August 1992 announced the creation of a Jewish Women’s Resource Center to "provide programs that touch the spiritual, intellectual and emotional spheres of the Jewish woman’s world." The notice also added, "The center is not affiliated with any organization and welcomes all interested individuals." A little more than a year later, in 1994, the group of women behind the announcement chartered the Jewish Women’s Center of Pittsburgh Inc.
