Preserving History

Abstract

On some mornings when Matthew Falcone comes down the steps of his Lockhart Street home for his first cup of coffee, he pauses in his parlor, aware of the past inhabitants. "Commando" Kelly, a North Sider who became a World War II hero, comes to mind. The parlor was the bedroom of Kelly and his brother.
