Curator's Corner: Pittsburgh Pigeon Racing

Abstract

On Sunday, August 28, 1988, John Yodanis died doing what he loved: racing pigeons. He had entered his beloved birds in a race, but he passed later in the day of a heart attack. He would have been thrilled to know that he won that race as he had so many before. Since the age of 14, John had been breeding and racing pigeons, an interest that was passed to him from his father and elder brother Anthony.
