Abstract

Among the varied and interesting collections at Meadowcroft is an extremely rare, intact example of the 19th-century woodworking trades: the Wilson Chair Shop collection. Born in 1826, in Washington County, James Wilson is listed in the 1850 census as a “chair maker.”
